Six rules that stop most scams
No real organisation asks for gift cards.
Not the police, not a bank, not a tax office.
Never share a one-time code.
Not even with someone who says they are from your bank.
Nobody can arrest you over a phone or video call.
Hang up. Call the police yourself on 112 (India) or 101 (UK).
Your bank will never ask you to move money to a 'safe account'.
That account belongs to the scammer.
Do not install apps a caller asks you to.
Screen-sharing apps give them control of your phone.
Talk about money on a normal phone call.
If someone on WhatsApp asks for money, call them on a number you already have.
